HEIRESS is pleased to announce Botting, a solo exhibiton by Elliot Avis. Elliot’s work explores themes and narratives that include gender and masculinity in relation to identity, how we identify with our avatars in the digital worlds, and referencing art history and mythology as a universal language. These themes expressed in the work appear as works on paper, canvas, sculptures, or installations, but Elliot considers them all to be paintings. They exist as psychically charged portals for the viewer to step inside and connect with the figures and icons in the work. Elliot investigates many topics and themes, but they are all united by a youthful, and expressive approach to mark-making, texture, color, and materiality.
